We are currently recruiting for fully-funded places to start in September 2022

Applications are made for entry to the 4-year training programme, including both training in the fundamentals of Environmental Intelligence and supervision of your PhD research.

Fully funded 4-year studentships are available for UK students, with a strictly limited number of places for International students. The funding provides tuition fees for the PhD programme including taught courses, an annual stipend at the UKRI standard rate (currently £16,062), and a budget for attending conferences etc.

Applications should be made via the University of Exeter’s studentships portal. You will be required to provide details of your academic record, employment history, and details for two referees.

Because the first year of the PhD programme is dedicated to training and exploring different areas of research, we do not require applicants to submit a research proposal. Instead we ask for a statement (approx 500 words) which should tell us about:

  • why you are interested in Environmental Intelligence
  • your interests, skills and experience and how they are applicable to the role of postgraduate researcher in Environmental Intelligence
  • your motivation for applying to this CDT programme

All applications will be considered, and a recruitment panel will select a shortlist for interview shortly after the application deadline of Friday 6th May.

If you are interested in applying and would like to have an informal discussion about the CDT, please email us at ei@exeter.ac.uk and we will get back to you to arrange a suitable time for you to talk to one of the team.
